Reshmi Sen

Reshmi Sen is an Indian dancer and actress who works in Bengali film, television, OTT, and theatre. She is known for Bangla Naache Bhangra (2013) and Swapnajaal (2018). She has also appeared in the Gujarati film Love Diary: Ek Prem Katha (2018), directed by Subrata Halder. She has played supporting roles in Bengali serials and movies. In 1992, she co-founded the theatre group Swapnasandhani with her husband, Kaushik Sen.

Personal Life

Reshmi Sen was born on September 19, 1968, in Kolkata, West Bengal, India, into a wealthy family. She has been involved in theatre alongside her studies since childhood. She holds a postgraduate degree in psychology and is a trained classical dancer. Reshmi Sen is married to Kaushik Sen and has a son, Riddhi Sen.

Career

Reshmi Sen and her husband, along with a few other friends, founded the theatre group Swapnasandhani on May 29, 1992. However, she was initially involved only in backstage work. She made her acting debut in the play Mukhomukhi Boshibar by Bratya Basu in 2000, in which she played the second lead. Since then, she has been involved in numerous plays like Ekla Chalo Re, Fourth Witch, and Hajar Churashir Maa.

In 2013, she made her Bengali film acting debut in Bangla Naache Bhangra, directed by Nandini Sharma and produced by Nitesh Sharma under the banner of Bangla Talkies. She has acted in more than seventy films. Her best-known performances in films include Ki Kore Toke Bolbo (2016), Vinash (2016), Mon Sudhu Toke Chai (2017), Ami Je Ke Tomar (2017), Bhobishyoter Bhoot (2018), Swapnajaal (2018), Love Story (2020), Miss Call (2021), Baba Baby O (2022), Prosenjit Weds Rituparna (2022), Bogla Mama (2023), Ghore Pherar Gaan (2023), Babli (2024), and Bohurupi (2024).

She has also acted in a few short films, such as Shilpi (2020) and Jonmodin (2022).

In 2018, she acted in only one Gujarati film, Love Diary: Ek Prem Katha (2018), directed by Subrata Halder, alongside Rohaan Bhattacharjee, Sarmistha Acharjee, and Palash Ganguly.
