Rathijit Bhattacharjee is an Indian singer, director, mentor, producer, and performer who works in the Bengali music industry. He participated in Zee Bangla Sa Re Ga Ma Pa and finished as the second runner-up. He won the Anandalok Award for Best Male Playback Singer in 2025.
Rathijit Bhattacharjee was born on May 22 in Badarpur, Assam. He is the youngest among three siblings in a middle-class family. His father, Ramendra Mohon Bhattacharjee, worked for the Indian Railways.
From a very young age, Rathijit showed a keen interest in music and gave his first stage performance when he was just four years old. His soulful singing left a lasting impression on the audience, and with the encouragement of his family and his first music teacher, Anupam Deb, Rathijit decided to pursue a music career.
To hone his musical skills, Rathijit moved to Kolkata and enrolled in Rabindra Bharati University. He participated in various singing competitions and won many accolades. His dedication and hard work paid off when he got the opportunity to train under the esteemed Acharya Jayanta Basu.
His big break came when he participated in the reality show Zee Bangla Sa Re Ga Ma Pa in 2006, where he became the second runner-up. This exposure opened many doors for him, and he went on to work as a music director with renowned singers like Kailash Kher, Kunal Ganjawala, and Abhijit Sohom.
Rathijit Bhattacharjee can perform various forms of music, including folk, ghazal, and Sufi. He made his debut as a lyricist with the song Sorbonashi from his new music album. He has been involved in several films as a composer and singer, including 2 Taka (2018), Soona Soona (2020), Pradhan (2023), and Khadaan (2024).
In 2025, he won the Anandalok Award for Best Male Playback Singer for his work in the film Khadaan (2024). Rathijit Bhattacharjee, along with Nilayan Chatterjee and Savvy Gupta, composed the soundtrack for Khadaan (2024).
Rathijit Bhattacharjee is married to Shreya Bhattacharjee. The couple shares a deep bond and often celebrates their love through music. They have been together for over a decade and continue to support each other in their respective careers. Rathijit often credits Shreya for being his biggest inspiration and critic, helping him refine his compositions.
