Parthasarathi Deb

Parthasarathi Deb was an Indian actor known for his work in Bengali film and television. He also appeared in Telugu films and a few Hindi productions. He served as the Vice President of the West Bengal Motion Picture Artists' Forum.

Early Life and Career

Parthasarathi Deb was born in Kolkata, West Bengal, India, around 1955–1956. He made his acting debut with the Bengali film Choto Gokulpurer Jatri in 1981. Throughout his career, spanning over forty years, he acted in more than 200 productions, including films and television shows such as Ek Akasher Niche, Satyajiter Goppo, Golapi Mukta Rahasya, Sonar Kella, Mahaprithibi, Hridayer Katha, Joyee, Chuni Panna, Mithai, Prem Aamar, Kakababu Here Gelen, Lathi, Shakti, Nagordola, Romeo, Biporjoy, Bogla Mama Jug Jug Jiyo, Raktabeej, and Khelaghar Bandhte Legechi. Many of his films were released after his death.

Death

Parthasarathi Deb was married to Vinita Dev Banerjee, and they had a daughter, Rimjhim Deb. However, they later divorced in 2018. In 2021, he was diagnosed with COVID-19 but recovered. Unfortunately, he was later diagnosed with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), which led to a lung infection and pneumonia. He was admitted to the hospital on February 9, 2024, and was put on ventilation on March 17, 2024. Parthasarathi Deb passed away on March 22, 2024, at the age of 68 in Kolkata.
