Mamta Kulkarni is an Indian former actress and model who transitioned into a Hindu monk. She was known for her roles in several successful Hindi films during the 1990s, such as "Waqt Hamara Hai" (1993), "Krantiveer" (1994), "Karan Arjun" (1995), and "Sabse Bada Khiladi" (1995). She won the Filmfare Award for Lux New Face of the Year in 1994 for her performance in "Aashiq Awara" (1993).
Mamta Kulkarni was born on April 20, 1972, in the Versova area of Mumbai, Maharashtra, into a middle-class Marathi Brahmin family. Her father, Mukund Kulkarni, was a former Commissioner of Mumbai. She has two sisters, Riyadarshani Kulkarni (also known as Mithila) and Mulina Kulkarni (also known as Soumya Kulkarni), both of whom are actresses.
Mamta Kulkarni completed her primary education at a government school and later attended St. Joseph's Convent High School in Juhu, Mumbai, where she actively participated in school plays and cultural programs. Mamta completed her education up to the 10th grade.
Mamta Kulkarni was in a relationship with drug lord Vicky Goswami until 2016. She opened up about her past relationship with him and admitted that she had been dating him. She claimed that she had never been married. She also clarified that she couldn’t move forward with her relationship with Vicky due to her strong inclination toward spirituality.
Mamta Kulkarni made her Bollywood debut with the film Tiranga in 1992. She had earlier entered the film industry with the Tamil film Nanbargal in 1991.
