Early Life and Education
Senuran Muthusamy grew up in Durban, where he attended Clifton School, an independent institution known for its high-quality coaching and facilities. He lost his father when he was 11. From a young age, he showed promise in cricket, representing provincial school teams from the U-11 to U-19 levels. However, he initially did not plan to rely on cricket as a career. Muthusamy later completed a degree in media and marketing, but cricket ultimately had other plans for him.
Domestic Career
Muthusamy made his first-class debut for KwaZulu-Natal in 2013. His performances quickly caught attention, leading to his move to the Dolphins the following year. The 2016-17 Sunfoil Series was a turning point in his career, as he scored a career-best 181 against the Knights and took 27 wickets during the series. His consistent performances in domestic cricket earned him spots in various T20 leagues, including with the Cape Town Knight Riders for the T20 Global League.
In April 2021, Muthusamy joined the North West squad ahead of the 2021-22 cricket season. He continued to impress, scoring his first century in List A cricket in March 2022, with a knock of 100 from 106 balls against Western Province.
International Career
Muthusamy's international debut came in October 2019 during South Africa's Test series against India. In his debut match, he made an immediate impact by taking the wicket of Indian captain Virat Kohli.
