Early life
Sam Konstas was born on October 2, 2005, in Kogarah, New South Wales, Australia. He is of Greek descent, with his father, Jim Konstas, hailing from Kalamata, and his mother, Pamela Konstas, from Patras. Sam has a twin brother, Johnny, and an older brother, Billy, who is a physiotherapist. Sam’s father, Jim Konstas, unknowingly prepared him for tough battles in cricket. When Sam was a child, his father mistakenly set a bowling machine to 90 miles per hour instead of 90 kilometres per hour.

Domestic Career
Sam Konstas made his first-class debut for New South Wales on November 28, 2023, against Tasmania. His performance in domestic cricket has been impressive, particularly in the 2024-2025 Sheffield Shield season, where he became the youngest player to score twin hundreds in the competition since Ricky Ponting in 1993.
Sam Konstas made his Big Bash League (BBL) debut for the Sydney Thunder against the Adelaide Strikers on December 17, 2024, at Manuka Oval in Canberra. In his debut match, Konstas scored the fastest fifty in just 20 deliveries. He finished with a score of 56 runs, including eight fours and two sixes.
Sam Konstas made his List A debut for New South Wales on November 12, 2024, against South Australia in the 2024–25 One-Day Cup (Australia) season.
International Career
Sam Konstas has also represented the Australia Under-19 cricket team against the England Under-19 cricket team in July 2023. He was part of the squad for the 2024 Under-19 Cricket World Cup, where he scored a century against the West Indies and was mentored by former Australian all-rounder Shane Watson.
His performances with the Under-19 team earned him a place in the Australia A team for the tour against India A. In the second innings of the second unofficial Test, he scored 73 not out and, alongside teammate Beau Webster, sealed the win.
He was then selected for the Prime Minister's XI match against India A on December 1, 2024. In the match, he scored 107 off 97 balls, including 14 fours and a six, against bowlers such as Mohammed Siraj and Ravindra Jadeja.
Sam Konstas made his international Test debut in the fourth Test against India at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) during the Boxing Day Test on December 26, 2024. He replaced Nathan McSweeney in the playing XI. He is the fourth-youngest Test player for Australia, at 19 years and 85 days, and scored 60 runs off 65 balls, hitting six fours and two sixes. In the first innings, he scored 34 runs off 33 balls against Bumrah, using innovative shots like the scoop and reverse scoop. He became the second-youngest Australian player to score a half-century in Test cricket.
